SMOKED TRI-TIP

Smoked Tri-Tip

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2lb. tri-tip

  • 1 tbsp garlic pepper

  • 1/2 tbsp rosemary

  • 1/2 tbsp kosher salt

  • Olive oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place sear kit with flat side up on the right side of the recteq.

  2. Preheat the grill to 250ºF.

  3. Mix garlic pepper, rosemary, and kosher salt for rub.

  4. Coat both sides of the tri-tip with olive oil and then the rub.

  5. Place on the recteq (fat side up).

  6. Cook until an internal temperature of 120ºF is reached (1 hour).

  7. Remove tri-tip, then increase grill temperature to "FUL" or 500ºF.

  8. Place tri-tip on sear kit and sear each side for 4-5 minutes or an internal of 130ºF.

  9. Allow meat to rest for 15 minutes and slice across the grain to serve.
